West Bend, Wis.-based Black Hawk helicopter crews from the Wisconsin Army National Guard’s 1st Battalion, 147th Aviation Regiment deliver a simulated patient to Aurora BayCare in Green Bay, Wis., as part of a mock mass casualty exercise May 31. The scenario called for a single Black Hawk crew to medically evacuate three victims critically injured by a building collapse to Aurora Medical Center-Summit. A Black Hawk can transport up to four litter-borne patients, as opposed to civilian air ambulances which carry only one patient. The training called for one patient to be transported from Summit to Green Bay for additional care. This training builds on prior collaboration between the Wisconsin Army National Guard and Aurora Health Care. Aurora Health Care photo
