Col. Matthew Elder, commander of the Wisconsin Army National Guard’s 32nd Infantry Brigade Combat Team, leads a combined arms rehearsal with battalion leadership June 3 during a rotation at the Joint Readiness Training Center, Fort Johnson, La. Combined arms rehearsals create a shared understanding of the mission by having different elements of the brigade talk through their assignment, using a large floor map to show their location and movement in relation to other brigade elements. Battalions and companies conducted their own rehearsals to ensure all leaders had an understanding of their part of the mission. The Red Arrow led more than 5,000 Soldiers from across the United States and Canada in simulated large-scale combat operations. This realistic training builds readiness for overseas deployments and prepares Soldiers to survive the rigors of war. 32nd IBCT photo by Staff Sgt. Kati Volkman
