ARMY NATIONAL GUARD RECRUITING

The Guard dates back to 1636, when Citizen-Soldiers formed militias to defend community and country. And for 377 years, the Guard has stayed true to its roots. Enlisting in the National Guard means more time at home. Training typically requires one weekend each month, with a two-week training period once each year.

Minuteman Scholarship

BENEFITS

  • Covers full tuition and fees OR room and board ($10,000 per year) at the participating university of attendance
  • Cadet stipend monthly ($420 freshman-senior)

15W – UNMANNED AIRCRAFT SYSTEMS OPERATOR

As an Unmanned Aircraft Systems Operator, you’ll be an intelligence specialist, integral to providing Army personnel with information about enemy forces and battle areas. You’ll train and utilize specialized skills to conduct air reconnaissance, surveillance, targeting missions, and analyze aerial photographs.

25N – NODAL NETWORK SYSTEMS OPERATOR-MAINTAINER

As a Nodal Network Systems Operator-Maintainer, you’ll be part of the telecommunications team. You’ll have the responsibility to supervise, install, operate, and perform field-level maintenance on electronic communications equipment to make sure that the lines of communication are always up and running. You’ll work on internet protocol bases, high-speed electronic communications systems, and network communication systems.

25U – SIGNAL SUPPORT SYSTEMS SPECIALIST

As a Signal Support Systems Specialist, you’ll maintain vital signal support systems and terminal devices; the equipment that needs to consistently work in order for commanders to stay informed, track, and direct the movement of their troops. You’ll perform signal support and technical assistance for computer systems, local area networks, and you’ll perform maintenance on equipment, terminal devices, power generators, and vehicles. You’ll also detect enemy signals and jam enemy radio transmissions.

35 SERIES – MILITARY INTELLIGENCE

Intelligence Soldiers provide the Guard with the information it needs to act. Human intelligence collectors talk to sources in foreign languages and conduct interrogations. Signal analysts and cryptologic linguists use advanced surveillance techniques to spy on enemy communications. Analysts then deliver this critical information to commanders, enabling Guard Soldiers fight with deadly precision.

46 SERIES – PUBLIC AFFAIRS

As an Army Public Affairs Mass Communication Specialist, you’ll supervise and assist administration of Army public affairs programs by researching, preparing, and distributing news releases, articles, web-based material, and photographs on Army personnel and activities. You’ll gather information within your unit and around the Army, you’ll develop ideas for news articles, arrange and conduct interviews, write news releases, feature articles and editorials, and conduct media training.
