The CATCH program allows victims of sexual assault the opportunity to anonymously submit suspect information to military criminal investigators to help the DoD identify serial offenders. To make a CATCH entry, victims of sexual assault can contact a Sexual Assault Response Coordinator (SARC) or Victim Advocate (VA).

DoD Safe Helpline is the Department of Defense’s (DoD) sole hotline for members of the DoD community affected by sexual assault. Safe Helpline is a completely anonymous, confidential, 24/7, specialized service—providing help and information anytime, anywhere. A Safe Helpline user can access one-on-one support, peer-to-peer support, information, resources, and self-care exercises to aid in their recovery.

A Judge Advocate General (JAG) that provides confidential legal advice and guidance to a victim of sexual assault. All SVCs has experience trying cases in both military and civilian trials. They understand the legal process and guide victims. A victim can access this support whether they file a Restricted or Unrestricted Report, even if they have not yet made an official report. Mandated reporters include the victim’s direct supervisory chain of command (Military and National Guard Employee supervisors, supervisory chain, and first sergeants), Commanders, Sergeant Majors, Chief Master Sergeants, law enforcement personnel, military security forces regardless of status, and instructors. Supervisory chain of command is defined as the succession of commanding officers from a superior to a subordinate through which command is exercised; also, the succession of officers, enlisted members, or civilian personnel through whom administrative control is exercised, including supervision and rating of performance. For members of the National Guard this also includes The Adjutant General and the Governor of the State and Commanding General of the District of Columbia.

The SVSES allows the DoD to learn directly from Service members about their experiences with sexual violence, and specifically sexual assault. Sexual Assault Response Coordinator (SARC) The single point of contact at an installation or command, or within a geographic area, who oversees sexual assault awareness, prevention, and response training; coordinates medical treatment, including emergency care, for victims of sexual assault; and tracks the services provided to a victim of sexual assault from the initial report through final disposition and resolution.

Victim Advocate (VA) A person who provides non-clinical crisis intervention, referral, and ongoing non-clinical support to adult sexual assault victims. Support will include providing information on available options and resources to victims. The SAPR VA, on behalf of the sexual assault victim, provides liaison assistance with other organizations and agencies on victim care matters and reports directly to the SARC when performing victim advocacy duties
