Wisconsin Army Guard deploys more than 300 Soldiers

VOLK FIELD, Wis. — Wisconsin National Guard Soldiers — part of the 1st Battalion, 128th Infantry Regiment, the 1st Battalion, 120th Field Artillery Regiment, the 132nd Brigade Support Battalion and the 457th Chemical Company — will deploy to both U.S. Central Command in Southwest Asia and U.S. Africa Command, Horn of Africa to support ongoing operations through tactical missions, and provide medical care capabilities across the region.

Former Guard engineers reflect on legacy built on community improvements

PLATTEVILLE, Wis. — A Wisconsin Army National Guard engineer unit’s alumni recall how they applied their expertise to community projects to keep their skills sharp.

Lt. Col. Seth Kaste, commander of the Wisconsin National Guard’s 54th Civil Support Team (CST) — a specialized unit of full-time Army and Air National Guard members trained to respond to chemical, biological, radiological or nuclear emergencies — conducts a unit briefing during an annual exercise Aug. 28 at a Bella Domicile warehouse in Madison, Wis. In the training scenario, a Bella Domicile maintenance worker found a makeshift laboratory in the warehouse, prompting a call to 911. Madison Fire Department officials detected some kind of radiation on site, and requested the 54th CST to assist. Survey team members suited up and discovered the source of the radiation, and safely removed the material. The exercise also called for a separate report of the discovery of an unknown hazardous substance that required the 54th CST to send a detachment to that location. 128th Air Refueling Wing Agile Combat Employment Exercise in Volk Field

Milwaukee, WI — As part of the agile combat employment exercise, 128th Air Refueling Wing Airmen performed training exercises to improve and learn different parts of their job functions to become multi-capable, interoperable, and efficient Airmen during deployment and wartime situations as part of the ACE concept, Volk Field Air National Guard base, Camp Douglas, WI, July 14-19, 2024.
